2024 FUTURE PHINS CHAT ALL THINGS ASPIRATIONS AND ARENA
In 2024 Swimming Australia & arena launched the Future Phins initiative to support junior swimmers with high potential.
Eight inaugural athletes were selected and since then they have achieved great things in the pool:
- Callum Simpson (17) represented Australia at the Paris Paralympics, winning two golds and a silver on debut!
- Marcus Da Silva (18), Tex Cross (17) and Josh Conias (17) shared great success in the Junior Dolphins squad at the 2024 Junior Pan Pacific Championships with eight medals between them.
- Piper Asquith (17) scooped the pool at the 2024 Australian Age Championships on the Gold Coast, winning gold in the girls 16 years 100m and 200m freestyle. Victoria Belando-Nicholson (16) dominated the multi-class 16–18-year-old 100m and 400m freestyle events.
- Olympia Pope (15) and Isabella Osborn‘s (17) champion efforts this year earned them a chance to race in the green and gold. Pope and Osborn represented Australia at the 2024 Oceania Championships. The budding breaststroke teen queen, Pope also raced for Australia in the nation’s capital at Junior Pan Pacs.
