Rookie Added After Kaylee McKeown's Withdrawal from World SC Champs

The Nudgee College swimmer has become the main beneficiary of Kaylee McKeown’s withdrawal from the World Short Course Championships with the 20-year-old earning his first senior cap to represent Australia at the Championships in Budapest this December.
Turner has claimed Dolphin pin number 868 and will take his place on the starting blocks of the 200m butterfly at the world meet which runs from December 10-15 alongside eight other rookies.
He will warm up for the championships by competing at the three legs of World Aquatics Swimming World Cup starting this month in China, then South Korea and Singapore.
McKeown will also contest the three legs before flying home.
Turner is coached by Shaun Crowe and has been in excellent form this year, setting six PBs at the 2024 Australian Short Course Champs held in Adelaide last month, including taking out the gold in the men’s 200 fly (01:52.95).
