Swimming Australia mourns the passing of former Channel 7 Sunrise and sports reporter Nathan Templeton, who stood poolside with our Dolphins during several Olympic and Commonwealth Games campaigns.

‘Tempo’ was a natural storyteller, professional yet compassionate and always fair.

His sudden death is a loss for all those that had the honour of knowing him.

Swimming Australia head coach Rohan Taylor said: “He was a great friend to swimming and will be greatly missed … our deepest condolences go out to his family, loved ones and especially his two young sons, during this difficult time.”

The 44-year-old passed away on Tuesday.
