Explore Melbourne for the latest culture, food, sport and entertainment. From hidden laneways to blockbuster events, there’s always something new on show.
This is the bit where we get a little bit creative and bust out the superlatives to talk about why Melbourne’s a must for any serious foodie.
So, loosen your belt and strap yourself in for a little taster.
There’s the cinematic glamour of Gimlet, the minimalist industrial chic of Coda, and the so-ritzy-it’s-almost-regal Reine & La Rue.
Or, if you’re not feeling the fancy vibe, you could try Collingwood’s classic rooftop burger joint, Easey’s.
But what about the food? Well, it’s decadent, extravagant, edgy, chic, innovative, delicious, sometimes all on the same plate. And that makes almost any meal here one you’re certain never to forget.
This is the bit where we go mega-gigantic-big and talk about EVENTS.
Our calendar is so jam-packed year-round with major exclusives there’s barely time to breathe. Think the Australian Open, Melbourne International Comedy Festival, Formula 1 and more.
The list goes on and on. And on. And on.
And you know the best thing? They’re all either in the CBD, or so close that coming for an event isn’t just about doing one thing, it’s about doing all the things. World class restaurants, arts, live music, bars, fashion and fun, fun, fun.
So, come for the big bit, but stay and play for all the other bits too.
This is the bit where we get to the heart of what makes Melbourne, Melbourne. We’re a diverse city that knows how to live. A city that’s absolutely jam-packed with things to see and do, from our roaring sports stadiums to our labyrinth of colourful laneways.
Choose from high-end cuisine to basement rock gigs, plays, festivals and blockbuster sporting events – all happening across a city full of parks, gardens and historic architecture.
There’s always something exciting happening in Melbourne, whatever your taste.
