Bio
When she was in kindergarten, Jenna Jones was diagnosed with Cone-Rod Dystrophy, a rare degenerative eye disease.
Born in Maitland, New South Wales, Jenna played a variety of sports growing up, but decided swimming was the sport for her.
At age 13, Jenna competed in her first Australian Swimming Championships, breaking 11 age records. After an impressive start to her young career, Jenna made her international debut for Australia just two years later when she was only 15 years old, being selected to compete for the 2016 Rio Paralympics team.
Jenna placed seventh in the 50m freestyle S13 and 100m backstroke S13 finals in Rio. Jenna made her Commonwealth Games debut in 2022, when she missed out on a medal, finishing fourth in the women’s 50m Freestyle S13.
Her first international medal would come in 2023 at the World Swimming Championships in Manchester, winning silver in the 100m backstroke S12. At age 23, Jenna reached her second Paralympics in Paris after a strong performance at the Australian Swimming Trials.
