Greg Towle has a number of years’ experience in coaching, especially in Open Water swimming where he coached Grant Cleland to the 2004 World 5km Open Water title. In 2006, Greg was appointed the first full time head coach of the Open Water swimming program for Australia, following the announcement of the 10km Open Water race being included in the 2008 Olympics in Beijing. Towle returned to the Olympics in 2012, where he once again coached the open water swimming team. He is one of the organisers of the BHP Billiton Aquatic Super Series Open Water Challenge in Western Australia. In 2021, Greg was inducted into the Australian Marathon Swimming Hall of Fame. Greg is now Swimming Australia’s Paralympic Performance coach and head coach for the Paris 2024 campaign.
