Kate Sparkes is currently the head coach of the Yeronga Park Swim Club, winning Multiclass Coach of the Year after her outstanding achievements at the World Para Swimming Championships in Manchester in 2023.

Kate was appointed to her first senior team as part of the 2020 Tokyo Paralympics campaign. In 2023 she was announced Head Coach of the Australian Dolphins Paralympic team alongside Harley Connolly, where she coached the men’s program.

After a strong outing at the Australian Swimming Trials, Kate was selected to both the Olympic and Paralympic Games in Paris where she will coach Chelsea Gubecka at the Olympics followed by Rowan Crothers, Katja Dedekind, and Poppy Wilson for the Paralympics.
