Bio

With the 2024 Paralympic Games in Paris being his fifth and final campaign, Brenden Hall is a seasoned veteran and Australian Paralympic royalty.

At the age of six, he had his right leg amputated after complications from chicken pox. The disease also resulted in the loss of 70% of his hearing.

His first Paralympics was in 2008, and despite being the second youngest athlete on the team, Hall broke the record for Men’s 400m Freestyle (S9). At the 2012 Paralympic Games in London, Hall brought home two gold medals and one bronze medal in the Men’s 400m Freestyle (S9), Men’s 4x100m Freestyle 34 pts and Men’s 4×100, Medley 34 pts, respectively.

In the 2016 Paralympics, Hall went on to win a gold medal in the Men’s 400m Freestyle (S9), a silver medal in the Men’s 100m Freestyle (S9), and a bronze medal in the Men’s 100m Backstroke (S9). At both the 2022 and 2023 World Para Swimming Championships, Hall achieved a bronze medal in the Men’s 400m Freestyle (S9).

As an eight-time world champion, and reigning world record holder in the Men’s 400m Freestyle (S9), Men’s 800m Freestyle (S9), and Men’s 1500m Freestyle (S9), Hall is not an athlete to miss at the upcoming Paralympic Games in Paris.
