The State Open Series will be designed to increase athlete participation and raise recognition across the state open meets by providing consistent high quality competition opportunities. The aim is to encourage athletes to engage in nationwide racing that tests themselves in a range of events and build resilience. This series would not only support athlete development but strengthen overall depth and quality of swimming across the states.
The meets that will make up this State Open Series are listed below:
- 13th-19th December: Queensland State Open Championships
- 19th-23rd December: WA State Open Championships
- 16th – 18th January: Swimming SA Open Championships
- 13th-16th February: Swimming Victoria Open Championships
- 6th-8th March: NSW State Open Championships
- 6th-8th April – Australian Open (Grand Final event)
