Bio

The 2024 Paris Paralympics was Tim Hodge’s most successful campaign yet.

The three time Paralympian won his maiden gold in the 4x100m Medley Relay (34 points) with his teammates Alexa Leary, Emily Beecroft, and Jesse Aungles and heat swimmers Callum Simpson and Keira Stephens.

Hodge also won his first individual gold medal in at a Paralympic record in the Men’s 200m Individual Medley SM9 (2:13.31). Hodge capped off his stacked campaign with a silver medal in the men’s 100m butterfly S9.

Since his first international competition in 2015, Hodge has excelled at both the national and international level.

Tim lost his right foot when he was four due to lower-leg deficiency. In addition, he is missing two fingers on his right hand and his right arm is shorter than his left.

At the 2016 Rio Paralympic Games, Hodge placed fifth in the Men’s 200m Individual Medley (SM9), and sixth in the Men’s 100m Backstroke (S9). He went on to win two silver medals at the 2018 Commonwealth Games, as well as two bronze medals at the 2019 World Para-Swimming Championships.

At the 2020 Tokyo Paralympic Games, Hodge won silver in the Men’s 200m Individual Medley (SM9) and Men’s 4x100m Medley 34 pts, as well as a bronze medal in the Men’s 100m Backstroke (S9). He has gone on to win three gold, one silver and two bronze medals across the 2022 and 2023 World Para Swimming Championships.

While at the 2024 Australian Paralympic Swimming Trials, Hodge broke his own world record in the Men’s 200m Medley (SM9) with a time of 2:12.03.
