Swimming Australia offers the flexibility to run the Development Coaching Course at your own club, school, swim school, or aquatic facility.

Hosting a course at your venue helps you:

• train multiple coaches at once
• reduce travel costs
• develop a strong, supported coaching team
• tailor logistics to your environment

To enquire about hosting a course at your venue, contact the Coach Development Team. We will work with you to assess suitability, schedule a facilitator, and provide everything needed for a successful learning experience.

Please note, a course booked at your venue requires a minimum of 8-10 course candidates subject to the location and venue hire fees. If your club, school or other program is interested in booking a course, it can help to work with other local swim clubs and schools in your local area to ensure sufficient attendance numbers will be met.

Swimming Australia has a Minimum Age to Coach Swimming Policy. Any person seeking to become an Australian Licenced Coach under the SANCF, must:

• Be 16 years of age or older
• Australian Licenced Swim Coaches who are 16 – 17 years of age must be supervised by an experienced Australian Licenced Swim Coach over the age of 18 or a supervisor or committee member over the age of 18.
• Swimming Australia also strongly recommends that Australian Licenced Swim Coaches who are 17 years of age are also supervised by an experienced Australian Licenced Swim Coach over the age of 18 or a supervisor or committee member over the age of 18.
• Swim Coaches who are 18 years of age or older, do not require supervision, however Swimming Australia strongly recommends Clubs, Schools and Employer Organisations conduct risk assessments and implement suitable safety measure to ensure all swim coaches and swimmers can participate in swimming activities in a safe and supported way.
